The matrix of our daily reality is a construction of language. Those who can skillfully wield the word control the world; those who cannot live in the reality of those who can.

The Weblinks

The web sites I've linked are there to assist you in improving your composition skills, and help you find resources that specifically address areas you need to strengthen. In some cases the sites overlap in the information they provide. Notice that several links take you to local newspaper sites. We'll be using them for research on local issues and events, and I want you to keep abreast of what's going on in our community, as you'll be working on an essay concerning a local subject.

Visit each site, explore its resources, and, as you work through your compositions, use them to address any questions you have about the writing you're doing, or the critiques you receive from your peers and teachers. You need to become a "self-sufficient learner." As the saying goes:

“Give a man a fish; you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish; and you have fed him for a lifetime”
